“I used to think I was the strangest person in the world but then I thought there are so many people in the world, there must be someone just like me who feels bizarre and flawed in the same ways I do. I would imagine her, and imagine that she must be out there thinking of me too. Well, I hope that if you are out there and read this and know that, yes, it's true I'm here, and I'm just as strange as you.”

Spring Sprouts!

The Espanola Valley Fiber Arts Center (EVFAC) in New Mexico
gave their proprietary two color blended wool roving to a few felt makers
requesting they use it to create something, anything.
EVFAC will exhibit what each artist crafts.

I combined the colors "yellow submarine" and "little grey bird" with white to complete this Spring Sprouts hat.  I wet felted the majority of the piece and added needle felted accent beads.
Like all my hats, there is no front or back, right or wrong way of wearing.
Thanks for the fun, EVFAC!

in music waiting to be heard,
in the sensations of the day
waiting to be felt. "

 THE HILLSBORO HAT
While driving a mountain road (NM Rt 152) where the large "Silver" wild fire had just blazed through, smoke too strong to be out of the car for more than a few minutes, I saw the beauty of color contrasts...knowing I would felt something reminiscent of this powerful act of nature.
